As I mentioned in my previous blog, the main source of my updates on this website will be relating to the final year project I am currently developing for my University course. EPLP (or English Premier League Predictions) is an idea I came up with some time ago when I realised lots of people ran football prediction games on forums, but there weren’t many dedicated websites. I’ve always been deeply interested in football (Liverpool fan incase you’re wondering) and this seemed like the perfect idea for my final year project.
The basic concept of the website is that users will sign up to the site using a simple registration form, then they can predict upcoming football fixtures that have been submitted by the admin. Once the football matches have taken place, the admin will enter the results for the games and users will be given points depending on how successfully they guessed the correct scores. The hope is that once I have graduated, I will be able to publish this site on the Internet and attract some willing users to participate for the new Premiership season starting in August.
At the moment the site is in it’s very early stages of development; the database has been modelled and I am currently working on the design template of the website. I have a couple of screen shots that I will upload soon to show it’s primitive form, but I am currently waiting for the logo to be completed before finalising the design.
Keep an eye out for updates over the coming week – and hopefully news of some prizes that could be won by being involved when the site goes live in the Summer.
