Recently I’ve come across lots of different articles about Twitter, and how to use it “properly” in order to help get more followers. There are obviously different reasons that people use Twitter, but some of the guidelines being set are actually quite helpful if people take the time to read them. As I touched on during my last Twitter post, it is actually very different from Facebook, and that got me thinking: how do you use your Twitter account?

Apparently Twitter is “a waste of time”, “nobody uses it” and you are “better off using something like Facebook”, according to one Digital Point forum user. This comment may be good advice for a 13 year old, but if you are looking to interact with professionals, you may want to learn a bit more about Twitter’s benefits.

Contrary to the popular belief (well, one colleague) that SEO is in fact done by wizards, there isn’t a magic formula that makes your website appear on the first page of Google. A popular aphorism in the world of search engine optimisation is “content is king” – and although this phrase may be overused, it is very true.
