Last PageRank Update of the Decade

You are here: Home » SEO » Last PageRank Update of the Decade

After checking a couple of websites this morning, it seems there is a Google Toolbar PageRank update taking place. There hasn’t been much said about it so far, but a few blogs and forums are confirming that there has indeed been an update.

So far I have only seen PR changes on a couple of websites (including this blog, which is nice), but I guess it makes sense to update now on the last day of the year.

Is anybody seeing any strange PR updates at all? I’ve done limited testing so far.

I’ve seen PR update on a few websites. I think Google updates PR approximately every 3 months, so it was expected to be updated at the end of the year.

I’ve seen a couple of sites updated – but could this be the last ever one, let alone this decade? I read somewhere a while ago that Google were planning on removing it from the toolbar entirely because it was misleading and generally inaccurate.

I still check page rank anyway, and hope they don’t remove it; but it does seem to be less of a ranking factor nowadays.
